LAGOS http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-tyler-myers-jersey , Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Aminu Maigari, the impeached Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), would return to the office on Monday, Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo, said on Friday.

The return was based on the agreement of all parties involved in the crisis to ensure that the problems were solved http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-tucker-poolman-jersey , Danagogo told reporters in Abuja, the nation's capital city.

The Board of the NFA had on July 24 impeached Maigari on grounds of financial misappropriation, misapplication and maladministration.

The board had since then appointed the first Vice Chairman, Mike Umeh, to act as the chairman.

But FIFA, the world football governing body http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-tobias-enstrom-jersey , had requested for an explanation on the processes that led to Maigari's impeachment which the board had replied.

However, FIFA in another letter had advised that Maigari be allowed to preside over the forthcoming NFA congress on Aug. 26.

The minister said the crisis in the football house was over.

He said the board members had resolved to work with Maigari to ensure that the electoral process was smooth for credible leaders to emerge.

CAIRO, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- While Egypt's Al-Ahly won its eighth African Champions League title Sunday, the country's soccer fans regained their hope to come back to stadiums and enjoy the taste of victory and celebrations again.

The "Red Devils" Al-Ahly crowned the CAF Champion by beating South Africa's Orlando Pirates 2-0 in the second leg of the final for a 3-1 aggregate win.

Sunday's match was the first major football event held in Egypt in front of so many fans since February 2012, when a deadly riot erupted during a football match in the Suez Canal city of Port Said http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-teppo-numminen-jersey , leaving at least 74 people dead, most of them were Al-Ahly's fans, also known as Ultras Ahlawy.

After the worst catastrophe in the country's football history, the government suspended all football league matches and banned fans from entering stadiums.

Fears had raised days before the game kicked off, and many people were concerning much about the possible security problems instead of the event itself.

Thousands of policemen have been deployed inside and outside the Arab Contractor Stadium in eastern Cairo, with several armored vehicles also around the venue. It was regarded as a test run for the second leg of the Nov. 19 World Cup playoff in the city between Egypt and Ghana.

Last month http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-teemu-selanne-jersey , Egypt received a one-sided loss of 1-6 to Ghana in the first leg of the playoff, which brought about fury in the violence-stricken Arab country. But the interim government has ensured several times that Cairo is safe for the match.

A day before Al-Ahly's victory, the Egypt Cup final between its rival, Zamalek, and another Cairo club of Wadi Degla was scheduled to be held behind closed doors in the eastern Red Sea resort of El-Gouna. However, hundreds of Zamalek fans http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-steve-mason-jersey , also known as Ultras White Knight, rushed into the stadium violently.

Hours before Sunday's match, some ticketless fans briefly clashed with security forces, forcing policemen to fire tear gas to disperse the crowds.

Fortunately, the game ended peacefully, raising hopes that the coming matches in Egypt will soon open to all football lovers.

"Many fans were sitting and standing on handrails and billboards in the stadium as they don't have tickets http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-shawn-matthias-jersey ," a Xinhua correspondent reported, saying the match was attended by nearly 50,000 people although the stadium has only 30,000 seats.

Elwy el-Manzalawi, a member of Ultras Ahlawy, regarded the brief clash before the match as normal "because there are so many people who want to enter the stadium."

"Everything is normal after the match and Al-Ahly supporters are just busy with celebrations http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-patrik-laine-jersey ," he told Xinhua.

Interim President Adly Mansour also congratulated the winner and praised the spirit of its fans and the efforts of the security forces.

"The success of security to control the situation today and the spirit fans have shown can tell us that the Egyptian football league will come back soon," said Azmi Megahed, a spokesman of the country's football federation.

He said that as Al-Ahly won an important championship in such a difficult time, it proved that the Egyptian football is regaining its strength.

"Fans are really eager to go back to support their teams. They will show more discipline in the coming events," Megahed added.

The military-installed government and the armed forces had determination in controlling the security situation, he said.

Football games have been frequently disturbed by Egypt's political and social turmoils even before the 2011 uprising that toppled former long-time ruler Hosni Mubarak. After the ouster of Mubarak and Islamist president Mohamed Morsi http://www.winnipegjetsteamstore.com/adidas-nikolaj-ehlers-jersey , concerns have increased that whether the political-divided country was capable of hosting high-profile football matches amid nationwide protests.

Supporters of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood have staged an array of protests across the country since the 62-year-old was overthrown by military in July.

Some teams were also confronted with financial and technical problems after the football league was canceled since the Port Said tragedy due to security reasons.

The deeply-politicalized Al-Ahly fans often clashed with police inside and outside stadiums. The group has also played a prominent role in the country's 2011 uprising.

Farouq el-Mikrahy, former assistant interior minister and a security expert, urged both football fans and policemen to respect laws.

"If everyone could do things under the laws, stadiums will not be out of orders," he said.
